Insurance, Subsidies and Emergencies

Private insurance and subsidies in Singapore can be helpful for those seeking mental health treatment. Many private insurance plans offer coverage for mental health services, including therapy.

Additionally, the government provides subsidies for those seeking mental health treatment through public healthcare institutions. It's important to research and compare different insurance plans and subsidies to find the option for your specific needs.

1

Private Insurance

Psychotherapy and counseling are well-established treatments that are covered by major insurance providers globally.

Many of our clients utilize their private insurance to cover the costs of our services. Please check with your insurance provider and if available, please seek reimbursement once you have received the receipt for the sessions.

Singapore Subsidies

Here is some valuable information about the public mental health resources and policies available in Singapore.

Patients who qualify can receive subsidies at polyclinics and public specialist clinics for outpatient treatment of mental health conditions. Please do find out more from the relevant website.

Lower income individuals also have the option to apply for MediFund, which serves as a safety net for Singaporeans in need.

The Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) covers dementia and 4 mental health conditions: anxiety, bipolar disorder, major depression, and schizophrenia. Find out how you can use your Medisave with a co-payment plan from the relevant website.

Individuals aged 60 and above also have access to funds from Flexi-Medisave to help cover out-of-pocket expenses. Furthermore, the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) supports the treatment of chronic conditions similar to those addressed in the CDMP. Both Merdeka Generation (MG) and Pioneer Generation (PG) cardholders can receive subsidies at their nearest CHAS GP clinic. The amount of subsidy provided varies depending on the category of CHAS.
