An advanced course based on the principles of Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy.

To understand the mind
is to understand people.

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is an approach that focuses on managing irrational or unhealthy thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In contrast to more passive talk therapy, REBT focuses on actions. REBT was developed by psychologist Albert Ellis in the 1950s.

When we don’t live up to our expectations or others don’t live up to our expectations, it can lead to dysfunctional thoughts and/or behaviours. These irrational beliefs are what causes us emotional distress.

Life will inevitably throw us a curveball, no matter how hard we try to dodge it , ignore it or run away from it, it will eventually catch up with us. REBT focuses on challenging and disputing irrational beliefs. Leading to unconditional acceptance of the self, acceptance that we can’t control what others do or think, and acceptance that we will encounter adverse events in life.
